What makes a good question?
So before we get into a list of questions, it’s essential to understand what is a good question. One of the most important things to understand is that questions need to be:
- Critical and focused on a goal or metric in mind
- Not misleading or cause misunderstandings
If you fail to follow any of the facts above, you risk creating skewed and incorrect data.
Some good questions to ask
Because there are many different types of questions to ask, we varied the questions. Some of these are generic enough to be altered, but we wanted to help provide some examples of questions you could ask your users.
As a note, you can always leave questions open-ended, but sometimes it’s better to attach a scale (1 to 10) or a simple multiple-choice selection (Yes or No, etc.). Additionally, if you’re using a scale, make sure to define what 1 and 10 means (e.g., ‘1’ for ‘Poor’, 10 for ‘Amazing’).

- What other products would you like to see?
- If you did not upgrade/purchase, what stopped you from doing so?
- Is there anything preventing you from purchasing at this point?
